Acting Class for Teens - January 2010 - Monday Evenings
TEEN SCENE - a new eight-week acting class taught by Anna Senechal Johnson starts Monday, January 18, 2010 and runs through Monday, March 8, 2010. All classes 6 - 8 pm at the Firehouse Theatre. For students ages 13-19.
Bring a playwright's vision to life! Learn how to analyze a script while you continue to develop acting technique. Students will engage in the process of learning to pursue objectives, live with one another onstage, create characters and work as an ensemble. This is the perfect class for students who want to tackle both monologue and scene study work, using material from great plays and film scripts, tailored to challenge and develop the skills of each student.
Anna Senechal Johnson (Instructor) one of the five founding members of Firehouse
Theatre Project, returned to Richmond this year after having spent 12 years working as a freelance actress, director, drama teacher and choreographer in Idaho. A graduate of Sarah Lawrence College, she is a Company Artist for Company of Fools in Hailey, Idaho, and served for nine years as Artistic Director of a theatre arts and education program in Sun Valley, Idaho called St. Thomas Playhouse. Favorite Idaho directing credits include: Suburbia, Agnes of God, The Wizard of Oz and Jesus Christ Superstar. Favorite Richmond directing credits include: My Children! My Africa (Theatre IV Little Theatre), A Devil Inside (Theatre IV Little Theatre) and Tone Clusters (Firehouse Theater Project). Acting credits include rolls in: Steel Magnolias, Rabbit Hole, Sight Unseen and Bus Stop. Currently she teaches for SPARC, freelances as a teacher, and will be directing Cadence Theatre Company's Fool For Love this winter.
